The environment that I place my characters is jarring. Newfoundland is not Hollywood. On the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the weather is precarious, the land is rugged and incapable of supporting 6-inch heels. This is my reality. How does this relate to a second reality that is fed to me through television, movies and magazines?
