Home is not Sad, is a series of 8 large-scale paintings
that were exhibited at I-land Gallery in Toronto, September 2000.
My giant woman poses are borrowed from popular culture, movies,
art history, to cigarette ads. I place my ladies into situations,
which are funny, disturbing, embarrassing, and even a little inquisitive.
I create a strange juxtaposition between typical views of the
St. John's landscape and my fifty-foot femmes fatale. The paintings,
like the poses, are larger than life and humorous.
